The wayward girls and the biker gang
Mexican music and nine a.m.
The couple from Korea that lived downstairs
I'd give a million dollars to be back there
yeah, I'd give a million dollars to be back there
Got a cool breeze blowin' through an open window
Coltrane's playin' on my stereo
I can feel the sun settin' on the other side of town
but over here, it just don't want to go down
It just don't want to go down
with a cooler full of cheap beer and a couple bags of ice
In just a little while we'll be feeling alright
Lookin' back on the things I didn't know
but I didn't know then that I didn't know
well, I didn't know then, that I didn't know
Was a run down apartment on the wrong side of town
with stains on the carpet and the curtains falling down
The stove hardly worked and the walls were too thin
but I'd go right back and do it all the same again
Well every Sunday night we'd all pitch in
fix up a big pot of beans and all dig in
sit around and bang on our guitars
as far as we knew we were livin' like stars
we were livin' like stars
Time moved on and we all moved out
we all got married and got our own lives now
but lookin' back, there isn't any doubt
we all learned lessons in what live was about
what live was about...
...from a run down apartment on the wrong side of town
with stains on the carpet and the curtains falling down
The stove hardly worked and the walls were too thin
but I'd go right back and do it all the same again
The wayward girls and the biker gang
Mexican music and nine a.m.
The couple from Korea that lived downstairs
I'd give a million dollars to be back there
yeah, I'd give a million dollars to be back there
